  • NVOCC License: 027805NF

    SLG is licensed by the Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) as an Ocean Transportation Intermediary (OTI) and operates as a Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier (NVOCC). This allows us to legally arrange international ocean freight and issue our own house bills of lading.

    OTIs are held to strict regulatory standards, including experience, compliance, and ongoing financial responsibility requirements.

    As part of this, SLG maintains required surety bonding, which serves as a financial guarantee of compliance and performance for our customers and partners.

    Why this matters:
    FMC licensing is rigorous to obtain and maintain, requiring continuous compliance and oversight. Working with a licensed and bonded OTI ensures your cargo is handled by a provider operating fully within U.S. regulatory standards.

    SLG’s Terms & Conditions are developed in partnership with ocean freight legal counsel, ensuring alignment with FMC regulations.

    SLG holds active USDOT and Motor Carrier authority issued by the U.S. Department of Transportation, allowing us to legally arrange and coordinate domestic over-the-road freight.

    This authority ensures:

    • Proper registration and oversight for inland freight activity

    • Alignment with national safety and operational standards

    SLG also maintains required broker surety bonding, providing financial assurance to carriers and partners.

    • Verification of USDOT authority

    • Monitoring of compliance history

    We conduct ongoing audits to ensure all partners meet SLG standards.

    In addition, SLG maintains contingent auto liability coverage above standard requirements—adding an extra layer of protection for our customers.
