SLG Licenses, Authorizations, and Affiliations & Insurance
Built on Trust. Proven in the Field.
Since its founding in 2019, Special Logistics Group (SLG) has successfully moved thousands of containers across nearly 100 countries. We specialize in executing shipments into remote, complex, and hard-to-reach environments—where reliability matters most.
Our core focus is humanitarian logistics, supporting NGOs, charities, ministries, and churches operating in high-need regions. At the same time, we deliver the same level of precision and accountability to commercial cargo worldwide.
At SLG, we don’t just move freight—we provide certainty.
We operate with a clear commitment to:
Execution – your cargo delivered where and when it needs to be
Compliance – every shipment handled in accordance with regulatory requirements
Integrity – doing what we say, every time
To support that commitment, SLG maintains a strong framework of licenses, authorizations, bonding, and global affiliations—giving our customers full confidence in who they are trusting with their cargo.
-
NVOCC License: 027805NF
SLG is licensed by the Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) as an Ocean Transportation Intermediary (OTI) and operates as a Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier (NVOCC). This allows us to legally arrange international ocean freight and issue our own house bills of lading.
OTIs are held to strict regulatory standards, including experience, compliance, and ongoing financial responsibility requirements.
As part of this, SLG maintains required surety bonding, which serves as a financial guarantee of compliance and performance for our customers and partners.
Why this matters:
FMC licensing is rigorous to obtain and maintain, requiring continuous compliance and oversight. Working with a licensed and bonded OTI ensures your cargo is handled by a provider operating fully within U.S. regulatory standards.SLG’s Terms & Conditions are developed in partnership with ocean freight legal counsel, ensuring alignment with FMC regulations.
